Chelsea eased into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a dominant 5-0 victory over League Two side Morecambe at Stamford Bridge. Doubles from Tosin Adarabioyo and João Félix, along with a goal from Christopher Nkunku, secured a comfortable win for the Blues.

Despite making several changes to his starting lineup, Enzo Maresca’s side were in control from the outset. They could have won by an even greater margin if not for a missed penalty by Nkunku in the 17th minute.

Chelsea created numerous chances throughout the match, with Adarabioyo hitting the bar early on before eventually opening the scoring with a deflected effort from the edge of the penalty area.

Nkunku made amends for his earlier penalty miss with a composed finish early in the second half, before Adarabioyo added his second with a superb strike into the top corner.

Félix then put the icing on the cake with two goals in quick succession, rounding off a swift counter-attack for his first and then curling in a delightful effort for his second.

Youth and Experience Combine for Chelsea

Maresca handed a start to 18-year-old attacker Tyrique George, who impressed with his lively performance and provided the assist for Adarabioyo’s second goal. Reece James and Romeo Lavia also made their first starts since returning from injury.

Morecambe Outclassed

League Two side Morecambe battled bravely but were ultimately outclassed by their Premier League opponents. Goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne produced a string of fine saves, including denying Nkunku from the penalty spot, but was unable to prevent Chelsea from running riot.
