Kane Double Leads Bayern to Comfortable Victory Over Werder Bremen
Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to nine points with a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen, thanks to a double from Harry Kane.1 The victory marks Bayern’s seventh consecutive league win and keeps them firmly in control of the title race.2
Kane’s brace, which included two penalties, took his league tally to 21 goals for the season. The England captain has been in superb form for Bayern and continues to lead the Bundesliga scoring charts.
Bayern dominated the match from start to finish, creating numerous chances and limiting Werder Bremen’s attacking opportunities.3 Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané also came close to scoring, with Sané eventually adding a third goal late on.
Kane’s performance was once again a highlight for Bayern. He was a constant threat in attack, and his two penalties showcased his composure and clinical finishing.
“I want to take responsibility and open the game up,” Kane said. “It’s happened a few times this season which is good. I’m enjoying being out here with the boys.”
Bayern now face a crucial Champions League play-off tie against Celtic next week, followed by a Bundesliga clash against defending champions Bayer Leverkusen. Kane acknowledged the importance of these upcoming matches and expressed his determination to help Bayern achieve their goals.
“It’s a big month for us. We’re aware of that,” Kane said. “It was important to keep the focus and win today to go nine points at the top. We have two big away games next week. We have to push ourselves and see how far we can go.”
