Needing just a point to secure the crown, Liverpool briefly fell behind when former player Dominic Solanke headed Spurs into an early lead in the 12th minute. Slot, who succeeded Jürgen Klopp last summer, has masterminded a remarkable first season, leading Liverpool to the title with four games to spare.
For Tottenham, it was another difficult afternoon in a dismal Premier League campaign, marking their 19th league defeat – their most since the 2003-04 season. Manager Ange Postecoglou, who rested key defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven ahead of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Bodø/Glimt, saw his side overwhelmed by Liverpool’s intensity and ultimately play the role of compliant guests at the title coronation.
