Atalanta continued their impressive season with a 2-0 Champions League victory at Stuttgart, maintaining their unbeaten record in Europe. Zaniolo strikes.

Despite Stuttgart creating the better chances in the first half, with Anthony Rouault heading over and Deniz Undav firing into the side netting, it was the Italian side who took control after the break.

Ademola Lookman broke the deadlock following Gian Piero Gasperini’s tactical change at half-time. Substitute Charles De Ketelaere made an immediate impact, beating his marker to deliver a low cross for Lookman to tap home. The goal marked Lookman’s eighth in 12 games across all competitions this season.

Stuttgart nearly equalized when Ermedin Demirovic missed from close range following a cut-back. However, Atalanta sealed the victory through substitute Nicolo Zaniolo’s counter-attacking goal.

The win, coming after their impressive 3-0 victory over Napoli in Serie A, moves Atalanta up to ninth in the table with eight points. They are yet to concede a goal in their European campaign this season.

Stuttgart drop to 25th place with four points and will travel to Belgrade to face Crvena Zvezda on matchday five, while Atalanta face Young Boys in Switzerland. Zaniolo
