Manchester United’s woes deepened as Newcastle delivered a dominant 2-0 victory at Old Trafford, leaving fans and pundits disheartened by seeing Manchester United Crumble to Newcastle. Sky Sports commentator and former United captain Gary Neville expressed his shock and frustration at the dismal display during his live co-commentary.

Newcastle struck early through Alexander Isak, capitalizing on defensive errors and lackluster marking. Joelinton doubled the lead before halftime, leaving Manchester United trailing and struggling to find any rhythm. Neville described the first half as “embarrassing,” criticizing the lack of aggression and cohesion in the team.

“Casemiro and Eriksen can’t keep up, and Martinez has to do better. Newcastle are hammering Manchester United – this is a mauling,” Neville said.

Neville questioned manager Ruben Amorim’s tactical choices and team selection. He highlighted the inability of United’s midfield and defense to cope with Newcastle’s intensity.

“When you saw the starting XI, you had to think it would be very difficult for this team to play well. The two central midfielders can’t run, and the back three have no legs,” he remarked.

Neville also expressed sympathy for Joshua Zirkzee, who was substituted in the 33rd minute amidst jeers from the crowd. “He’s basically been cheered off by his own fans – that’s brutal,” Neville added.

Neville criticized the performances of United’s summer signings, including Yoro, De Ligt, and Ugarte, questioning why players with decent reputations fail to thrive at the club. “This club has been a graveyard for players. It’s shocking how poor these signings have been,” he commented.

While United floundered, Newcastle impressed, with Neville praising their composure and control. “Newcastle are having the time of their lives out there. They could’ve been three or four up,” he said.

Despite slight improvements, United failed to recover in the second half. Neville concluded by labeling United the “worst pound-for-pound team in the country.”

As the pressure mounts on Ruben Amorim, Manchester United face the daunting task of rebuilding confidence and addressing glaring deficiencies to salvage their season. Crumble to Newcastle
