Kylian Mbappé delivered a scintillating performance, scoring twice as Real Madrid came from behind to defeat Las Palmas 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu. The victory propelled Real Madrid to the top of La Liga, overtaking Atlético Madrid, who suffered a shock defeat to Leganes on Saturday.

Las Palmas stunned the home crowd by taking the lead just 25 seconds into the match, with Fabio Silva converting a Sandro cross. However, Real Madrid responded emphatically, with Mbappé equalizing from the penalty spot after Rodrygo was fouled in the box.

Brahim Diaz then gave Real Madrid the lead in the 33rd minute before Mbappé added his second with a superb first-time finish. Rodrygo completed the scoring in the second half, finishing off a swift counter-attack.

Las Palmas’s task was made even harder when substitute Benito Ramirez was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Lucas Vazquez.

This impressive victory sees Real Madrid move two points clear of Atlético Madrid at the top of La Liga, with Barcelona a further five points adrift in third place.
