Arsenal Receives Injury Boost as Saka and Ødegaard start recovery

Arsenal has been handed a significant boost after medical scans revealed that the hamstring injury sustained by forward Bukayo Saka is not as serious as initially feared. The news offers a glimmer of relief for the Gunners, who also face a less-than-feared recovery period for captain Martin Ødegaard.

Saka, 23, was substituted in the second half of Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Leeds United on Saturday. The sight of him limping off raised immediate concerns, given he missed over three months of last season following surgery on his other hamstring. While an official timeline has not been confirmed by the club, early indications are positive, and he is not expected to face a similar lengthy lay-off. According to sources, the England international is likely to be sidelined for three to four weeks, ruling him out of Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash at champions Liverpool.

Adding to the club’s injury woes, captain Martin Ødegaard was also withdrawn from the match after landing awkwardly on his right shoulder. The Norway international was absent from a fan event on Monday to focus on his recovery, but similar to Saka, it is not anticipated he will be out for a sustained period.

The injuries to two of the team’s key players come despite Arsenal’s perfect start to the season, with two wins from two matches. The club will now prepare for their difficult trip to Anfield on Sunday, August 31st, without a full-strength squad.
