Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich concluded their title-winning season in commanding fashion, defeating hosts Hoffenheim 4-0 on Saturday.

Star striker Harry Kane was officially crowned the league’s top scorer for a second consecutive season, making history as the first player to achieve this in their first two Bundesliga seasons.

Bayern Munich, having already secured the league title two weeks prior, displayed their championship calibre from the start. French international Michael Olise opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a powerfully struck free-kick.

Olise then turned provider eight minutes into the second half, assisting Joshua Kimmich who found the net to double Bayern’s lead. This marked Olise’s 15th assist of the season, placing him at the top of the league’s assist standings.

Harry Kane, who began the match on the bench, made a significant impact upon his introduction. The England captain assisted Serge Gnabry for Bayern’s third goal before scoring his 26th league goal of the campaign in the 86th minute with a close-range finish. The Bundesliga title is the first major club honour of Kane’s career.

After being presented with the top scorer trophy, Kane remarked, “I always try to improve. But without teammates this would not be possible. I am enjoying this.” He later posted on social media, “The perfect end to a brilliant season. Thank you for your brilliant support, tomorrow we celebrate this title together,” alluding to the club’s planned title celebrations in central Munich on Sunday, May 18.

The victory also signifies a successful first season for Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany, who guided the Bavarian club back to domestic dominance after Bayer Leverkusen secured a double in the previous season.

Kompany was in high spirits during his post-match press conference, humorously suggesting that the emphatic nature of the win warranted no questions, before departing with a smile.

Despite an early exit in the German Cup and elimination in the Champions League quarter-finals, securing the Bundesliga title was a primary objective for Bayern this season.
