Paris Saint-Germain extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to 13 points with a 3-2 victory over Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday. Achraf Hakimi scored twice, and Ousmane Dembele added another, as PSG secured their eighth consecutive win in all competitions.

The victory maintains PSG’s unbeaten record in the league and moves them to 59 points. Second-placed Olympique de Marseille, who lost 3-0 at Auxerre on Saturday, are now 13 points adrift.

After a relatively quiet first half, PSG broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute. Hakimi finished off a fine move, firing a powerful shot into the bottom corner after a precise cross from Bradley Barcola.

Dembele, Ligue 1’s top scorer, doubled PSG’s lead six minutes later. He curled a superb shot into the far corner after receiving a pass from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, taking his league tally to 17 goals for the season.

Lyon reduced the deficit in the 83rd minute through Rayan Cherki, who scored from close range. However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished when Hakimi scored his second goal just two minutes later, restoring PSG’s two-goal cushion.

Lyon continued to press, and Corentin Tolisso scored a stoppage-time goal, adding a late element of drama. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made several impressive saves to preserve the lead.

“I think that today, we showed everyone that we are capable of playing any match against any team,” PSG coach Luis Enrique told DAZN. “We feel very strong tonight, we’re in a very good phase.”

Man-of-the-match Kvaratskhelia added, “Congratulations to the team, it was a tough game. The important thing is to get three points and to keep on winning this league… It was a difficult game because they attacked right to the end.”

The defeat leaves Lyon in sixth place, occupying the Europa Conference League qualifying spot, with 36 points.
