United made a strong start when Amad Diallo opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Bournemouth responded swiftly through Antoine Semenyo, who restored parity and set the tone for a chaotic contest. Casemiro put the hosts back in front deep into first-half stoppage time, sending United into the break with a 2–1 advantage.
The second half saw Bournemouth mount an impressive comeback. Goals from Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier turned the match on its head, giving the visitors a 3–2 lead and exposing United’s defensive frailties.
