Arsenal have completed the signing of Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey in a sensational transfer deadline day swoop.
Mikel Arteta’s North London side have been linked with Partey throughout the summer along with Lyon’s Houssem Aouar who dismissed any move as deadline loomed large.
However, the Gunners were busy on yet another transfer deadline day as they opted to pay Partey’s €50m release clause.

Partey has become the club’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Brazilian duo Gabriel Magalhães from Lille, and former Chelsesa winger Willian and Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson.
Diego Semeoni’s regular first team player, Partey came through the youth system at Atlético before making 188 senior appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals.

Meanhwile, Atlético have announced the arrival of Arsenal outcast Lucas Torreira on a season-long loan , with a reported option to buy.
