Bayern Munich secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava in their final Champions League group stage match, but it wasn’t enough to secure a top-eight finish and automatic qualification for the last 16. The German giants will now have to navigate a two-legged playoff tie to reach the knockout stages.

Bayern dominated the match from the outset, with Thomas Müller heading them into an early lead. Harry Kane then doubled their advantage in the second half, before Kingsley Coman added a third. Slovan Bratislava grabbed a late consolation goal through Marko Tolic, but it did little to dampen Bayern’s frustration at missing out on a top-eight spot.

Despite the win, Bayern finished 12th in the league phase, one point behind eighth-placed Aston Villa. They will now face an anxious wait for Friday’s playoff draw, where they could face a tough opponent like Manchester City or Real Madrid.

Bayern will be disappointed to have missed out on automatic qualification, especially after dominating their match against Slovan Bratislava. They created numerous chances and could have won by a greater margin, but ultimately their failure to secure a more emphatic victory proved costly.

Despite this setback, Bayern remain determined to progress in the Champions League. They will be looking to utilize their experience and quality to overcome their play-off opponents and secure a place in the last 16.

The draw for the Champions League play-off round will take place on Friday, with Bayern Munich awaiting their fate. They will be hoping to avoid a difficult draw and secure a favorable tie as they bid to continue their Champions League journey.
