Bayern thrash Frankfurt to Extend Bundesliga Lead

Bayern Munich emphatically extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to eight points with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena. The win was a decisive response to title rivals Bayer Leverkusen’s victory on Saturday, which had temporarily reduced the gap to five points.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, Bayern broke the deadlock deep into first-half stoppage time. Excellent interplay in midfield culminated in Leroy Sane squaring the ball for Michael Olise, who finished confidently for his seventh league goal of the season.

The defending champions doubled their advantage in the 61st minute. Eintracht Frankfurt failed to clear a corner, allowing Hiroki Ito to react quickest and side-foot the ball home from close range.

Jamal Musiala added a third with a superb individual effort. Receiving a pass from Alphonso Davies, Musiala skillfully navigated his way through the Frankfurt defense before unleashing a powerful shot past goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.

Substitute Serge Gnabry completed the rout in stoppage time, sliding the ball between Trapp’s legs to seal a dominant performance from Vincent Kompany’s side.

The victory underlines Bayern Munich’s title credentials and their determination to secure a record-extending 12th consecutive Bundesliga crown. They now have the opportunity to extend their lead to 11 points when they travel to face seventh-placed Stuttgart on Friday night. The match highlighted Bayern’s attacking prowess and their ability to break down a defensively solid opponent.
