In the 86th minute, Kylian Mbappé converted from the penalty spot after Rodrygo was fouled in the box, doubling the lead and securing the points. The goal marked Mbappé’s 59th of the calendar year, equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s club record.
The win keeps Real Madrid firmly in the title race, while Sevilla remain in the bottom half of the table following another difficult outing.
