Napoli End Juventus’s Unbeaten Run
Napoli extended their winning streak to seven matches with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Juventus, inflicting the visitors’ first Serie A defeat of the season. In a captivating encounter at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Napoli fought back from a goal down to secure a crucial win that strengthens their position at the top of the table.
Juventus, who had been unbeaten in their first 20 league matches, took the lead just before half-time through on-loan striker Randal Kolo Muani. However, Napoli responded with goals from André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Romelu Lukaku to complete a thrilling comeback.
The first half was a frantic affair, with both teams creating chances. Juventus dominated possession and looked dangerous in attack, with Kenan Yildiz forcing a superb save from Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret. However, Napoli also threatened, with Matteo Politano coming close early on.
Kolo Muani, who joined Juventus on loan from Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday, made an immediate impact, volleying home the opening goal just before the break.
Napoli came out firing in the second half, with Lukaku forcing a sensational save from Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio. The home side’s pressure eventually paid off when Zambo Anguissa leveled the score, finishing off a flowing move.
Lukaku then completed the turnaround, converting a penalty after Manuel Locatelli fouled Scott McTominay. Napoli held on to secure a vital victory that extends their lead at the top of Serie A and ends Juventus’s unbeaten run.
