Abraham’s Late Strike Seals Supercoppa Italiana Triumph for AC Milan
Tammy Abraham’s stoppage-time goal completed a remarkable comeback for AC Milan as they defeated rivals Inter 3-2 to win the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh.
Inter, chasing a record fourth consecutive title, took the lead in first-half stoppage time through Lautaro Martinez. Mehdi Taremi doubled their advantage just two minutes into the second half, finishing Stefan de Vrij’s pass.
Milan responded swiftly, with Theo Hernandez’s brilliant 20-yard free-kick reducing the deficit five minutes later. Hernandez then set up Christian Pulisic for the equalizer in the 80th minute.
In the dying moments, Rafael Leao’s cross found substitute Tammy Abraham, whose clinical finish sealed Milan’s first Supercoppa victory in eight years.
The win marked Sergio Conceicao’s second successive derby triumph, making him the first Milan coach to win his opening two matches since Filippo Inzaghi in 2014.
Milan’s victory tied them with Inter at eight Supercoppa titles, just one behind record-holders Juventus.
