Galatasaray Shatter Turkish Transfer Record to Sign Osimhen from Napoli
Turkish champions Galatasaray have completed the permanent signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli for a fee of €75 million ($85.74 million), shattering the Süper Lig transfer record.
The Istanbul club confirmed in a statement on Friday that the 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract, making his successful loan spell from last season a permanent arrangement. The deal eclipses the previous Turkish transfer record, which was set last year when Fenerbahçe signed Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla for a reported €20 million.
Osimhen enjoyed a sensational season on loan in Istanbul, leading Galatasaray to the league title while breaking individual records. He finished as the Süper Lig’s top scorer with 26 goals and set a new benchmark for the most goals by a foreign player in a single Turkish season, scoring 37 times across all competitions.
“A four-year contract has been signed with the player, starting from the 2025-2026 season,” Galatasaray announced in a public disclosure statement. Napoli also confirmed the terms of the agreement, which include a clause entitling the Italian club to 10% of any future transfer fee for the player.
The financial terms of the contract underscore Galatasaray’s ambition and investment in securing one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards. Osimhen will receive a net guaranteed salary of €15 million per season, supplemented by a €1 million loyalty bonus for each year of the contract and an additional €5 million annually for image rights.
The move concludes a period of speculation over the striker’s future, with several top European clubs previously linked with the former Lille and Wolfsburg forward. Osimhen, who has scored 26 goals in 40 appearances for the Nigerian national team, was a pivotal part of Napoli’s Serie A championship-winning side before his initial loan move to Turkey.
