Portugal international João Félix has completed a permanent transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr from Chelsea, the Riyadh-based club announced on Tuesday. The 25-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract, ending his brief and challenging spell at the Premier League club.

In a statement published on its social media channels, Al Nassr welcomed the player, writing, “Let’s win together … Joao Felix is a Nasraoui.” While the transfer fee was not officially disclosed, multiple reports suggest the deal is valued at approximately €50 million ($58 million).

The move marks another significant turning point in a turbulent period for Félix. He had only made his move to Chelsea permanent in August 2024, signing a long-term contract from Atlético Madrid following an initial loan spell. However, he struggled to secure a consistent role, spending the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at AC Milan, where he scored three goals in 19 appearances. Across his time with Chelsea, he registered 11 goals in 40 games.

At Al Nassr, Félix will reunite with Portugal national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo and will play under the management of fellow countryman Luís Castro. The club is aiming to build a squad capable of winning the Saudi Pro League title after finishing third last season, behind champions Al Ittihad and city rivals Al Hilal.

Félix, who has already joined his new teammates at a pre-season training camp in Saalfelden, Austria, expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter. “I’m here to have fun and win together,” he said in a video released by the club.

The transfer comes after his former club, Benfica, reportedly attempted to re-sign him earlier in the summer but was unable to reach an agreement with Chelsea. Félix will now look to reignite a career that once saw him become one of the world’s most expensive teenagers when he joined Atlético from Benfica in 2019 for €126 million.
